Chelsea 2 – 2 Bournemouth

Reece James didn’t hold back after Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, expressing frustration over his teammates’ missed chances despite his own late heroics.

James delivered a stunning free-kick in injury time to salvage a point for the Blues. Chelsea initially took the lead through Cole Palmer, but Bournemouth turned the tide with a penalty from Justin Kluivert and a superb strike by Antoine Semenyo. Just when it seemed Bournemouth was heading for a win, James stepped up with a moment of brilliance.

Despite the dramatic equalizer, the Chelsea captain was far from satisfied. Enzo Maresca’s side dominated with 26 shots to Bournemouth’s seven, including 10 on target, yet they failed to capitalize, leaving James frustrated that his intervention was even necessary.

WHAT JAMES SAID
Speaking to TNT Sports, James shared his mixed feelings:
“There are positives to take from the game, going behind to come back and take a point, but there are negatives in not taking our chances. Mixed emotions.”

When asked if the result was fair, James was candid:
“To be honest, I don’t think so. We had a few clear-cut chances in the first half that we should have finished to put the game to bed. That can come back to bite you. Across football globally, if you don’t take your chances, it can hurt you.”

WHAT’S NEXT?
Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, two points ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle, though the Magpies have a game in hand. The Blues trail league leaders Liverpool by 10 points and must improve their finishing if they hope to close the gap.
