Alexander-Arnold Ruled Out with Hamstring Injury Ahead of Crucial Spurs Clash

Liverpool is determined to put their previous disappointment behind them and secure a place in the League Cup final. They not only need a win but must also be mindful of the goal difference. However, ahead of this crucial showdown against Tottenham Hotspur, the team has suffered a significant setback—Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

In the first leg of the League Cup semi-final, Liverpool suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at Tottenham’s home ground. Now, Arne Slot’s side will look to overturn the deficit in the second leg at Anfield on Thursday.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off in the 70th minute of Liverpool’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Bournemouth last Saturday. The injury has now sidelined the 26-year-old right-back, a key figure in the squad.

The English defender has played 31 matches across all competitions this season, contributing two goals and seven assists. Liverpool head coach Arne Slot confirmed the injury update.

“He left the pitch with some discomfort in his leg (against Bournemouth). He has already started working with the rehab coach on the field. Now we just have to see how long it takes for him to recover,” Slot said.

“Will he be available for Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round match? We’ll have to wait and see. But he won’t be playing tomorrow.”

In Alexander-Arnold’s absence, Liverpool academy graduate Conor Bradley could step in to fill the right-back role against Spurs.
