For the next two years, local brand “Daor” will be the official kit sponsor for Bangladesh’s men’s, women’s, and youth national football teams.

This marks a historic first—Bangladesh’s national football teams have never had an official kit sponsor before. Not just the senior men’s and women’s teams, but even the age-group teams will now wear kits provided by Daor. Interestingly, the brand isn’t widely recognized compared to established names in the industry.

Daor signed a two-year deal with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), with the official agreement finalized on Tuesday at the BFF headquarters.

Financially, the deal doesn’t bring direct monetary benefits to BFF. However, over the next two years, Daor will supply all essential kits, including match jerseys, training gear, tracksuits, and other accessories. Additionally, a portion of the revenue from online sales of these products will go to BFF.

Despite the national team’s growing brand value—especially after English Premier League player Hamza Choudhury joined the squad—some fans on social media have criticized the partnership with a non-FIFA-listed brand. However, BFF Vice President and Marketing Committee Chairman Fahad Karim believes the deal is beneficial.

“Last year, we spent nearly a crore taka on sports equipment for various national teams. With more matches this year, those expenses would naturally increase. Now, we don’t have to bear that cost. Instead, we’ll even earn a share from the commercial sales of these kits.”

BFF President Tabith Awal, present at the signing event, emphasized the importance of promoting a local brand on a global stage.

“We’ve carefully assessed the quality of these kits before signing with a local brand. Some renowned clubs have already used their jerseys in training. Through this deal, we want to showcase Bangladesh to the world. Previously, we had to import kits from abroad, but now it’s the opposite—we’ll take this brand international.”

Daor’s Founder and CEO, Abid Alam Chowdhury, revealed that a Bangladeshi-born designer living abroad is working on the national team’s jersey design. When asked about the design, he teased a surprise.

“A Bangladesh-born designer is working on the jersey. The design will reflect Bangladesh’s heritage. Let’s keep it a surprise for now.”
