Arsenal’s German forward will undergo surgery.

Arsenal has suffered yet another setback at a crucial stage of the season. Kai Havertz has picked up a hamstring injury that requires surgery, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.

The German forward sustained the injury last week during the team’s training camp in Dubai. The Athletic first reported that Havertz had suffered a hamstring tear.

On Thursday, British media confirmed that the 25-year-old will miss the remainder of the season. Arsenal later issued an official statement confirming the news.

The statement mentioned that Havertz will undergo surgery in the coming days, followed by a rehabilitation process that could last until the club’s pre-season preparations for the next campaign.

Arsenal is already dealing with injuries to three other key forwards: Gabriel Jesus (ACL), Bukayo Saka (hamstring), and Gabriel Martinelli (hamstring).

Saka underwent surgery in December. Although he has resumed light training in Dubai, he is not expected to return to action before March.

Martinelli suffered an injury in last week’s League Cup semi-final loss to Newcastle United. The Brazilian was forced off in the first half and could be sidelined for more than a month.

Havertz has been a key player for Arsenal this season, featuring in 34 matches across all competitions. He is the team’s top scorer with 15 goals and has also provided five assists.

In the Premier League standings, Arsenal sits in second place with 50 points from 24 matches, trailing leaders Liverpool by seven points.
