Rúben Amorim’s side had a disastrous start, conceding two goals in the first half and struggling to respond for most of the match. Defeat seemed inevitable until Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte struck late to salvage a crucial point.

Beto put Everton ahead early, and Abdoulaye Doucouré doubled the lead soon after. But United, desperate for a response, turned the game around with two goals in just eight minutes toward the end.

It was another tough outing for United, who had lost their last two league games before this draw.

First-Half Dominance from Everton

The home crowd erupted in celebration when Beto opened the scoring in the 19th minute. A corner found Doucouré, whose header bounced into Beto’s path, and the Portuguese forward hammered the ball into the net.

Just 14 minutes later, Jack Harrison’s shot was blocked, but Everton kept pressing. In the 34th minute, Doucouré rose highest to meet a cross with a brilliant header, making it 2-0.

United went into halftime frustrated, struggling to break down Everton’s defense.

United’s Second-Half Revival

Desperate to avoid another defeat, United pushed forward in the second half but found it difficult to break through Everton’s defensive wall.

It took a moment of magic from captain Bruno Fernandes to inspire a comeback. In the 72nd minute, the Portuguese playmaker curled in a stunning free kick, sparking hope for the visitors.

Ten minutes later, Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte leveled the score with a well-placed strike, completing United’s late resurgence.

VAR Drama in Stoppage Time

As the match neared its end, Goodison Park erupted once more when the referee awarded Everton a penalty in stoppage time. However, after consulting VAR, the decision was overturned, crushing the home side’s hopes of a last-minute victory.

League Standings

It has been a frustrating season for Manchester United, who now sit in 15th place with 30 points from 26 games. Everton, just one point ahead, hold 12th place in the table.
