Neymar’s latest injury is a major concern for the Brazilian national team.

After returning to the pitch following more than a year on the sidelines, the Brazilian star has suffered yet another setback. Due to his injury, he was unable to play in Santos’ most recent match, raising concerns for both his club and country.

On Monday morning (Bangladesh time), Neymar was absent from Santos’ squad for their Paulista Championship semi-final against Corinthians. The club did not officially disclose the reason for his absence.

However, renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the star forward has suffered a fresh injury.

“Neymar Junior was feeling discomfort, which is why he wasn’t in Santos’ squad last night.”

Neymar later provided some clarity on the situation himself.

“Unfortunately, I have been feeling some pain over the past few weeks… I really wanted to help the team, but in the morning, we conducted some tests, and then I felt the pain again.”

According to reports, medical tests conducted on match day revealed discomfort in his thigh—an issue that has troubled him multiple times in the past.

Without Neymar, Santos struggled and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Corinthians, crashing out of the competition.

This latest injury is yet another significant blow for the Brazilian forward.

Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017, but injuries have plagued him consistently since then.

In 2023, he moved to Al Hilal but suffered an ACL injury that kept him out for an extended period, limiting him to just seven appearances for the Saudi club.

In January, he returned to Santos in an effort to regain his rhythm. He had been making steady progress, scoring in consecutive matches, including a stunning goal from a direct corner and another from a free kick.

His strong performances for Santos earned him a recall to the Brazilian squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina. However, this fresh injury now puts his availability for those crucial matches in doubt.
