Bruno Guimarães believes that everyone wearing the Brazil jersey is accustomed to handling pressure.
With tough challenges ahead in the World Cup qualifiers, Brazil faces tough opponents: Colombia, the Copa America runners-up, and Argentina, the champions. However, Guimarães isn’t worried about these matchups. He claims that, based on their daily experiences of fighting like lions, the five-time world champions are ready to handle any pressure.
Brazil will play Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers early Friday morning, Bangladesh time, and five days later, they will face Argentina.
After 12 rounds, Brazil sits fifth with 18 points. Colombia is in fourth with 19 points, while Argentina leads with 25 points.
Brazil, under coach Dinizval Junior, has had a challenging qualification campaign. They’ve lost four matches and drawn three. On their way back to form, many experienced players are missing, and Guimarães, with just 32 appearances, is one of the more seasoned players in the squad. Only four players have more caps than him.
However, Guimarães doesn’t pay much attention to the lack of experience. The midfielder believes that Brazilian players are always ready for any challenge.
“Everyone who wears the Brazil national team jersey is used to handling pressure. Every day they have to fight like lions, whether it’s for the national team or a club. We wear the heaviest jersey in the world.”
