In his debut match against India, Hamza Choudhury gave it his all, delivering an impressive performance with the ball at his feet. Despite Bangladesh failing to secure all three points, Hamza remained thrilled with the experience.

This morning, the Sheffield United midfielder left for England but not before expressing his gratitude for the warm reception he received from the fans. He also revealed when he plans to return to Bangladesh.

Hamza Choudhury promises to return to Bangladesh in June

In a video message shared by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Facebook, Hamza said, “I can’t explain how it felt. Thank you, everyone. Insha’Allah, I will come back again in June. Please keep me in your prayers for good health.”

Bangladesh’s next match in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers is scheduled for June 10 against Singapore. Before that, there is a possibility of a friendly match, though the opponent has not yet been confirmed.

BFF is keen to host both matches at Dhaka’s National Stadium, but the venue is currently under renovation. If things go as planned, fans will see Hamza don the red and green jersey again during that time. The defensive midfielder himself hinted at it before leaving Bangladesh.

“We will meet again during the two big matches in June,” Hamza said.

Yesterday, the Bangladesh team arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 5 p.m. after traveling from Shillong via Guwahati and Kolkata. Hamza spent the night in Dhaka before departing this morning.

Hamza first arrived in Sylhet on March 17, where he was warmly welcomed by the people of his hometown, Habiganj. The love and support he received left a lasting impression. He later joined the Bangladesh national team camp on the night of March 18.

After a training session at the Bashundhara Kings Arena on March 19, Hamza traveled with the team to Shillong for the AFC Asian Cup qualifier. On March 25, Bangladesh held India to a goalless draw at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, marking Hamza’s debut for the national team.
