After a collision with a teammate on the field, concerns grew around AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The situation became even more alarming when he was taken off the field on a stretcher. However, after receiving medical treatment throughout the night at the hospital, the club has confirmed that the French goalkeeper is now “recovering well.”

AC Milan announced that after being under medical supervision for the night, Maignan is expected to return on Saturday.

Immediately after the match, his teammate Matteo Gabbia reassured everyone, quoting the doctors to confirm that Maignan was in good health.

“Fortunately, Mike (Maignan) is doing well. We asked the doctors how he was, and they assured us that he is fine and recovering. He’s been kept in the hospital for some tests. He’s an excellent captain.”

The incident occurred during the second half of Milan’s 4-0 win against Udinese on Friday. In the 51st minute, Maignan suffered a head injury while trying to stop an opponent’s attack, colliding with Alex Jimenez outside the penalty box. The impact left him unconscious, causing significant concern among those nearby.

Spanish defender Jimenez also sustained a severe head injury. Although he initially continued to play, he had to leave the field 18 minutes later.
