Since stepping down from his role at Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp has stayed away from coaching.

It’s been almost a year since Klopp last managed a team, and rumors have been swirling about the possibility of him taking charge of either Real Madrid or the Brazil national team. But putting those speculations to rest, the German manager’s agent, Marc Kosicke, has made it clear that Klopp has no plans to return to coaching anytime soon.

Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season and hasn’t taken up a new coaching role since. In October, he was appointed as the Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull, a position he officially began in January.

Recently, Brazilian media outlet UOL reported that Klopp is “not happy” at Red Bull and is “open” to returning to coaching, possibly with Real Madrid or Brazil.

Brazil have been searching for a new manager since Diniz was sacked last month. The Brazilian Football Federation has reportedly had its eyes on Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti for quite some time. And after Madrid’s Champions League quarterfinal exit to Arsenal on Wednesday, questions have also started to surface about Ancelotti’s future.

All this speculation has added fuel to the idea of Klopp making a coaching comeback. But speaking to Sky Germany on Friday, Klopp’s agent dismissed the rumors.

“I understand that top clubs in Europe and some federations continue to inquire about Klopp. But he has no intention of taking on a head coach role next season — not even for Real Madrid or the Brazil national team,” Kosicke stated.

“Jürgen is happy in his role as Red Bull’s Global Director, and he has a contract there. So, there’s nothing more to add.”
