The list of injured players at Europe’s most successful club continues to grow.
Injuries just won’t stop haunting Real Madrid. The latest to join the list is young forward Endrick, who has suffered a hamstring injury and is now sidelined.
Endrick picked up the injury during last Sunday’s 2–0 away win against Sevilla in La Liga. He was forced off the pitch in the 58th minute. Two days later, on Wednesday, the club confirmed the news of his injury.
The club’s official statement didn’t mention how long the Brazilian forward is expected to be out. However, according to Spanish media, the 18-year-old could be sidelined for at least two months. If that timeline holds true, Real Madrid will likely be without him for the FIFA Club World Cup in June and July.
Real Madrid, who have had a titleless season, already have a lengthy injury list featuring key players like Vinícius Júnior, Lucas Vázquez, Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão, Eduardo Camavinga, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, and David Alaba.
The Spanish giants will wrap up their La Liga campaign at home this Saturday against Real Sociedad. They will then kick off their Club World Cup campaign next month with a match against Al Hilal.
Endrick’s injury is also a blow for the Brazil national team. The five-time world champions are set to face Ecuador and Paraguay next month in the World Cup qualifiers — matches that will mark the beginning of Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure in charge of Brazil.
