Athletic Club 0 – 3 FC Barcelona
Barcelona wrapped up their La Liga campaign in style, becoming the first and only team this season to reach the 100-goal milestone — a fitting end for the newly crowned champions.
In a dominant final performance, the Catalan giants made quick work of Athletic Club. Within just three minutes, they netted twice — with Robert Lewandowski reaching a major milestone in the process. Dani Olmo added a third with the final kick of the match, capping off a near-perfect season with a convincing 3-0 victory in Bilbao.
Barcelona triumphed at San Mamés on Sunday in their final La Liga fixture of the season.
Under German coach Hansi Flick, Barça clinched a domestic treble — La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup — marking a hugely successful campaign.
Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a fine finish, and just three minutes later, he doubled the lead with a clinical header.
That first goal marked Lewandowski’s 100th in a Barcelona shirt. The Polish striker now has 101 goals in 147 appearances for the club.
It was also Barcelona’s 100th goal in this La Liga season — and Lewandowski finished with 27 goals, placing second in the league’s top scorers list, just four behind Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé.
The 36-year-old came close to a hat-trick but missed a clear chance in the second half.
In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Dani Olmo converted a penalty he earned himself, sealing the 3-0 scoreline.
Barcelona ended the season with 88 points from 28 wins and 4 draws, scoring 102 goals across 38 matches — securing the title with two games to spare.
Real Madrid, last season’s champions, finished second with 84 points.
Alongside Barça and Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Athletic Club, and Villarreal have also qualified for next season’s Champions League. It’s a special achievement for Bilbao — they return to Europe’s elite competition for the first time in 11 years.
Real Betis (6th) and Celta Vigo (7th) have qualified for the Europa League.
The three relegated teams this season are Leganés, Las Palmas, and Real Valladolid.
