There were rumors that this defender might be heading to Barcelona, but he chose the German champions instead.
Ahead of the Club World Cup, Bayern Munich have bolstered their defense by signing German centre-back Jonathan Tah as a free agent.
The Bundesliga champions confirmed on Thursday that they’ve agreed a four-year deal with the 28-year-old.
Tah had announced last month that he would be leaving Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season. At the time, there was talk of a potential move to Barcelona, but he ultimately opted to stay in Germany.
Since joining Leverkusen in 2015, Tah featured in 402 matches, contributing not just defensively but also with 18 goals and 13 assists.
He played a crucial role in Leverkusen’s historic 2023–24 Bundesliga title win—the club’s first ever.
