Dutch defender Jeremie Frimpong has officially joined Liverpool on a long-term deal.
Just hours after confirming Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid, the Premier League giants announced the signing of another right-back—this time from Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen. While Liverpool did not disclose the length of the contract or the transfer fee, British media reports suggest it’s a five-year deal worth around €35 million.
Frimpong, 24, was under contract with Leverkusen until 2028 but will make his switch to Anfield official on June 1. Known for his attacking flair, Frimpong is equally comfortable playing as a winger. His impact was vital in Leverkusen’s domestic double-winning 2023–24 season, racking up 14 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.
Alexander-Arnold had already announced the end of his two-decade journey with Liverpool. On Friday, he signed a six-year deal with Real Madrid. Frimpong is widely seen as the direct replacement for the England international.
