The Brazilian goalkeeper didn’t hold back in calling out media outlets spreading false news.
Rumors about Ederson leaving Manchester City have been circulating loudly for over a year now. With the upcoming transfer window, the gossip has resurfaced again. However, Ederson himself has dismissed it all as mere speculation.
About a year ago, various reports suggested that Ederson might move to play in Saudi Arabia’s league. In the end, those rumors proved false as the Brazilian remained firmly at City.
Recently, some media outlets claimed that multiple Saudi Pro League clubs might make offers for Ederson in this transfer window. Currently on Manchester City’s Club World Cup campaign, the 31-year-old star addressed the uncertainty about his future.
“My focus is completely here. I am with City. That’s what motivates me to take on the Premier League challenge again and to keep pushing for Champions League glory.”
Ederson still has one year left on his contract with Manchester City. He wants to see it through, having already won numerous trophies with the club, including six Premier League titles and one Champions League.
“My future is here. Some friends have sent me many news links, 99 percent of which are fake. I understand what you (the media) are doing.”
