With the summer transfer window in full swing, Premier League champions Liverpool have now signed their third new player.
Looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, Liverpool have brought in another defender — Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez has joined the club from Bournemouth. The 21-year-old is eager to get started at Anfield and can’t wait to wear the shirt of the English champions.
The club officially announced the signing on Thursday, stating that Kerkez has joined on a “long-term” deal. According to British media reports, it’s a five-year contract with a transfer fee of £40 million.
This marks Liverpool’s third signing of the summer. Earlier, they brought in Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and German midfielder Florian Wirtz.
Kerkez expressed his excitement after arriving at his new club.
“It’s truly an honor for me. Coming to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the biggest in England, is a blessing. I’m really happy and excited.”
“I’ll head home and enjoy a few days in my hometown. Then I can’t wait to return, put on the training kit, and start preparing for the season.”
Over the last two seasons, Kerkez impressed at Bournemouth, making 74 appearances across all competitions.
Born in Serbia, he made his debut for the Hungarian national team in 2022 and has since earned 23 international caps.
