After clinching the treble, PSG head coach Luis Enrique now has his sights set on making history with a Club World Cup triumph, aiming to complete what he calls a “perfect” season.
Just three wins away from that goal, PSG—already champions of Ligue 1, the French Cup, and the UEFA Champions League—are charging ahead with full momentum at the Club World Cup. Following a dominant 4-0 win over Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the Round of 16, Enrique made it clear that they are chasing greatness in this tournament too.
“We clearly want this to be a historic season for our club, and we want to make history in this tournament as well,” said the coach after the victory.
This is the first time the Club World Cup is being held in an expanded 32-team format, and the winner’s name will be etched into the history books.
But for PSG, the real challenge begins now. With tougher opponents lined up one after another, their next test is against German giants Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals. And Enrique isn’t letting his players relax.
“We have to stay focused. Right now, I’m not thinking about rest or next season,” he said. “We need to recover well and prepare in the best possible way for the next match.”
PSG’s clash with Bayern Munich is scheduled for this coming Saturday.
