With the signing of Christian Nørgaard, last season’s Premier League runners-up have now brought in three players during the current transfer window.
Just four days after completing a deal for Martín Zubimendi, Arsenal have added another midfielder to their ranks. The North London club have signed Danish midfielder Christian Nørgaard from Brentford.
Both clubs confirmed the transfer on Thursday, although no official details were released regarding the transfer fee. According to media reports, Arsenal paid an initial £10 million to secure the 31-year-old.
After finishing runners-up in the Premier League for three straight seasons, Arsenal have made strengthening their squad a top priority. Nørgaard becomes their third signing of the summer window.
Earlier, Arsenal brought in goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, followed by the July 6 signing of defensive midfielder Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Nørgaard spent six years at Brentford and played a key role in helping the club gain promotion to the Premier League in 2021. Over the past two seasons, he also captained the side.
