Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, who led Al Hilal to a domestic treble, has now taken charge of Al Nassr.
Two months after leaving Al Hilal, Jesus has joined their Saudi Pro League rivals Al Nassr — becoming the new coach of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané, and others.
Al Nassr announced on Monday via social media that the 70-year-old Jesus has been appointed on a one-year deal.
Jesus guided Al Hilal to a domestic treble in the 2023-24 season during his second stint with the club. However, after a semi-final defeat to fellow Saudi side Al Ahli in the AFC Champions League elite round last May, he stepped down.
Jesus has a decorated coaching career. The coach who led Brazilian giants Flamengo to Copa Libertadores glory in 2019 now replaces Stefano Pioli at Al Nassr.
Pioli, the Italian coach, left the club last month — less than a year after taking charge. Under him, Al Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season, 13 points behind champions Al Ittihad.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, recently extended his contract with Al Nassr until 2027
