To strengthen their title ambitions, coach Diego Simeone is bolstering his squad.
In an effort to close the gap with Barcelona and Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid has reached an agreement with Dutch club Feyenoord to sign defender Dávid Hancko.
The Spanish club announced on Tuesday that the Slovakian international will sign his contract after completing the medical examination.
While the official statement didn’t reveal the length of the contract or the transfer fee, reports suggest Atlético will pay around €30 million for the 27-year-old.
Saudi club Al-Nassr was also reportedly interested in Hancko, but it was the La Liga side that ultimately sealed the deal.
Since joining Feyenoord in 2022, Hancko has made 140 appearances across all competitions. He won the Dutch league title in his debut season with the club.
Atlético Madrid finished third in La Liga last season, behind champions Barcelona and runners-up Real Madrid.
