No Inter Miami players have been included in the Major League Soccer (MLS) squad set to face Mexico’s Liga MX in the All-Star match.

MLS’s biggest star, Lionel Messi, is notably absent from the All-Star team. His Inter Miami teammate Jordi Alba will also not feature in the match against Liga MX.

Only Messi and Alba had initially been named in MLS’s preliminary squad from Miami.

By opting out of the All-Star game, Messi risks suspension for the upcoming match against FC Cincinnati on Saturday. According to MLS rules, any fit player who withdraws from the All-Star match faces a one-match ban. So far, there has been no update from Messi’s camp regarding any injury. If no injury is confirmed, the league will likely impose the suspension on the league’s joint top scorer this season.

The All-Star match is scheduled to kick off at 7 a.m. Bangladesh time on Thursday in Texas.
