Has the Argentine star, winner of the World Cup and Copa America, already completed his European football journey?
Rodrigo De Paul is only 31 years old, but it seems the Argentine midfielder has wrapped up his chapter in Europe. He has left Atletico Madrid to join Inter Miami.
The La Liga club announced the end of De Paul’s contract in a statement on Friday.
“Rodrigo De Paul has bid farewell to Atletico Madrid and will continue his professional career at Inter Miami.”
At the American club, De Paul will reunite with long-time national teammate Lionel Messi, with whom he won consecutive Copa America titles and the 2022 World Cup.
During four seasons under Argentine coach Diego Simeone at Atletico, De Paul played nearly 200 matches but never tasted silverware.
De Paul began his professional career in 2012 with Argentine club Racing, then played for Valencia and Udinese before joining the Madrid side. Now he has chosen a league with comparatively less competition.
