With the list of injured players already long, Bayern Munich’s worries have grown even more ahead of the new season.
The club’s injury list has expanded further after midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic suffered a left ankle injury. The 21-year-old German international picked up the injury during training, which revealed a fracture in his ankle bone.
Bayern announced on Saturday that Pavlovic has undergone a successful surgery. However, the club did not provide any timeline for his return to the pitch.
Pavlovic played 33 matches for Bayern last season, making his absence a significant blow. The team is already without playmakers Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies due to injury.
Just a couple of weeks before the new season kicks off, Pavlovic’s injury adds to Bayern’s growing concerns.
Bayern Munich will face Stuttgart in the German Super Cup final on August 16. Six days later, they will begin their Bundesliga title defense with a match against Leipzig.
