Bayern Munich’s goal machine Harry Kane scored a sensational second-half hat-trick as his side crushed RB Leipzig 6-0 in their Bundesliga opener.
At halftime, Bayern were already leading 3-0, but surprisingly, Kane’s name wasn’t on the scoresheet — a rare sight. That changed quickly after the break. The English striker returned to his usual self, firing three goals in just 14 minutes.
After the match, Kane expressed gratitude towards his new attacking partner, Luis Díaz, who assisted two of his goals.
Bayern began their title defense in dominant fashion at home. Michael Olise opened the scoring in the 27th minute, followed by a goal from Luis Díaz five minutes later. Olise struck again in the 42nd minute to make it 3-0 before halftime.
In the second half, Olise looked on course for a hat-trick, but it was Kane who stole the show, netting in the 64th, 74th, and 78th minutes.
“At halftime, we were 3-0 up, and I told myself, ‘Why isn’t my name on the scoresheet? I have to change that,’” Kane said.
“We were sharp, dominant, and delivered a top-class performance. Winning 6-0 at home in the opening match sends a strong message.”
Kane also praised Luis Díaz, Bayern’s new signing from Liverpool:
“It’s only been a few weeks since he joined, but it feels like we’ve already built a strong connection. He created two of my goals today and finished his own brilliantly.”
The striker highlighted his growing chemistry with Michael Olise as well, saying:
“I’ve been playing with Michael for a year now, and our understanding is getting better and better. The goals he scored today were fantastic.”
With Díaz quickly adapting, Olise finding form, and Kane firing on all cylinders, Bayern look well-equipped to dominate the Bundesliga once again.
