Brazil is planning to play a few more friendly matches ahead of the World Cup.
The national team has laid out a detailed plan to prepare thoroughly for the upcoming tournament, which includes tours to South Korea and Japan in October.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced on Tuesday that Carlo Ancelotti’s squad will face South Korea in Seoul on October 10, followed by a match against Japan in Tokyo on October 14.
Brazil has already secured their 2026 World Cup spot from the South American qualifiers. In September, the five-time world champions will play their final two qualifying matches against Chile on September 5 and Bolivia on September 10.
Next year’s 23rd World Cup will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June to July. Playing friendlies against a variety of teams is part of Brazil’s strategy to fine-tune the squad for the big stage, said CBF General Coordinator Rodrigo Caetano.
“After the friendlies against South Korea and Japan, our plan is to face African national teams in November and top European sides in March and June 2026.”
“We believe that competing against different styles of football worldwide will give us valuable experience and put us in challenging situations similar to what we may face at the World Cup.”
