One player will be out for a month, and the other for six weeks.
PSG are reeling from injuries to key forwards Usman Dembélé and Dizier Doué, both of whom were sidelined after picking up knocks while playing for France. Dembélé is struggling with a hamstring issue and is expected to miss around six weeks, while 20-year-old Doué is out for roughly a month due to a right leg muscle injury.
Both players were hurt during France’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Ukraine last Friday. Dembélé’s hamstring problem had been a concern even before the match, and news of his withdrawal emerged quickly. Doué, who came on as his substitute in the second half, briefly impressed but could not last long.
Dembélé was forced off after just 35 minutes, seen clutching the back of his thigh as he left the field.
Losing these two key players is a major blow for PSG, especially considering their crucial roles in last season’s treble-winning campaign, including the Champions League, Ligue 1, French Cup, and French Super Cup. Dembélé, notably, is also among the contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
PSG will return to Ligue 1 action on September 14 against Lens, followed three days later by a Champions League clash with Atalanta to begin their title defense. Meanwhile, France faces Iceland in the 2026 World Cup Group D qualifiers on Tuesday.
