A new chapter in the Danish midfielder’s career is about to begin, and he can hardly wait.
After leaving his mark in the Netherlands, Italy, and England, Christian Eriksen is now stepping onto a fresh stage—German football. For the first time, the Danish star will play in the Bundesliga.
With his Manchester United spell over, Eriksen has signed a two-year deal with VfL Wolfsburg. At 33, the experienced midfielder is eager to get started.
“My first club in the Bundesliga is Wolfsburg. To be honest, I am really looking forward to this new adventure. I’m sure we can achieve something together here. The discussions with the club were very positive, and having some familiar faces from the Denmark national team here also made the offer more attractive to me.”
Eriksen began his professional journey in 2010 with Ajax after coming through their youth academy. He moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, where he spent the majority of his career before joining Inter Milan in 2020.
His time in Italy was short, and by 2022 he was back in England, first with Brentford and then with Manchester United later that year.
His contract at Old Trafford ended last season, leaving him a free agent in search of a new challenge—a search that has now brought him to Wolfsburg.
For Denmark, Eriksen has been a constant presence, earning a record 144 caps over the past 15 years. His collapse from cardiac arrest at Euro 2021 shook the football world, but he made a remarkable recovery and continues to play at the highest level.
