Juventus 4 – 4 Borussia Dortmund
Until the 93rd minute, Juventus were trailing 4-2 but struck twice in stoppage time to snatch a vital point.
After a dull first half, Allianz Stadium witnessed a thrilling showdown filled with spectacular goals from both sides. Borussia Dortmund were on the verge of a brilliant win, but Juventus clawed back with two late goals in stoppage time to escape defeat with a precious point.
At home, Juventus had been 4-2 down until the 93rd minute. In a Champions League clash packed with drama, tension, and excitement, the match ended in a 4-4 draw.
This wasn’t the first nail-biter at this ground either—just last Saturday, Juventus edged Inter Milan 4-3 in a Serie A thriller.
All the goals this time came in the second half. The first five arrived within 22 minutes, and the next three in just 10.
In terms of possession, both teams were nearly equal. Juventus had 19 shots with seven on target, while Dortmund managed 10 shots with five on target.
Despite twice clawing back level, Juventus fell behind 4-2 in the 86th minute. Yet Dortmund, so close to victory, couldn’t see the game out.
Substitute Dušan Vlahović scored twice for Juventus, while Kenan Yıldız and Lloyd Kelly added the other two. Dortmund’s goals came from Karim Adeyemi, Felix Nmecha, Yan Couto, and Ramy Bensebaini.
Both teams looked flat in the first half, registering only two shots on target—both from Juventus.
Dortmund broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute with their fourth attempt and first on target. Picking up a pass, Adeyemi fired a thunderous strike from outside the box to score.
In the 63rd minute, Yıldız produced a stunning equalizer, curling a shot from outside the box into the top far corner—just as the 20-year-old Turkish forward had done three days earlier against Inter Milan.
That sparked a flurry of goals at both ends. In the 65th minute, German midfielder Nmecha restored Dortmund’s lead with a fierce drive from outside the box.
Two minutes later, Juventus leveled again. Vlahović latched on to a through ball, darted into the box, and slotted past the keeper.
Couto then made it 3-2 for Dortmund in the 74th minute, dispossessing an opponent, driving into the box, and finishing at the near post.
In the 80th minute, Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel preserved the lead with a brilliant save, tipping Yıldız’s thunderous strike onto the post.
With four minutes of regulation time left, Bensebaini extended Dortmund’s lead from the spot after a handball in the box.
At that point, it seemed only a matter of time before Dortmund sealed the win. But everything changed in the six minutes of added time.
In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Vlahović darted to the near post to convert a cross from the right. Two minutes later, he turned provider—his cross from the right was met by a powerful header from Kelly to level the match. The stadium erupted. Dortmund’s defense was at fault for leaving Kelly unmarked to score. There were just 40 seconds left on the clock!
