Afghanistan will play their “home match” against Myanmar at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka.
Due to the lack of adequate infrastructure to host an Asian Cup qualifier at home, the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) requested the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to organize the match in Bangladesh. The BFF accepted the request, and the Afghanistan–Myanmar match is now scheduled to take place on November 18 in Dhaka.
On the same day, Bangladesh will face India in their Group C qualifier at the National Stadium, which is why the Afghanistan–Myanmar match will be held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena.
By hosting this game, Bangladesh will officially step into the role of a “neutral home venue” in international football. In a statement, the BFF said that this event marks a new chapter for Bangladesh in hosting international football matches.
The Afghanistan Football Federation made a formal request to the BFF to stage their home match in Dhaka. After receiving approval from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and a positive response from the Bashundhara Kings authorities, all parties agreed to host the game at the Kings Arena.
