Brazilian forward Raphinha could feature against Real Madrid.
Barcelona have received a timely boost ahead of the season’s first El Clásico, as Raphinha has returned to full training after recovering from injury.
The Brazilian picked up a hamstring injury late last month during Barcelona’s 3-1 La Liga win over Real Oviedo. Since then, he had been sidelined under coach Hansi Flick.
In an official statement, the Catalan club confirmed that Raphinha joined team training on Wednesday. Fellow forward Ferran Torres also returned, while defender Andreas Christensen remains out due to illness.
Barcelona are still without Gavi, Juan García, Dani Olmo, and Robert Lewandowski, all of whom are unlikely to feature in El Clásico due to injuries.
The Spanish champions will face arch-rivals Real Madrid this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Raphinha could make a substitute appearance in the match, while Fermín López and Marcus Rashford—who both impressed in Tuesday’s 6-1 Champions League win over Olympiacos—are expected to start.
Real Madrid currently sit atop the La Liga table with 24 points from nine matches, while defending champions Barcelona trail closely behind in second place with 22 points from the same number of games.
