Borussia Mönchengladbach 0 – 3 Bayern Munich
Since the start of the season, the German champions have been on a relentless winning streak, setting new records along the way.
Borussia Mönchengladbach have struggled from the outset of the campaign, and after being reduced to ten men early against Bayern Munich, they were unable to pull off anything remarkable. The German champions cruised to victory, maintaining their perfect start in the league.
Bayern secured their eighth consecutive Bundesliga win in their bid to retain the title, defeating the league’s bottom side 3-0 on Saturday.
In the 19th minute, Mönchengladbach midfielder Jens Castrop received a straight red card for fouling Luis Dias. Even with a numerical advantage for much of the first half, Bayern struggled to break the deadlock early.
After Michael Olise missed a couple of chances in the 50th minute and Harry Kane’s goal was ruled out for offside, Joshua Kimmich finally broke the stalemate in the 64th minute.
Five minutes later, Rafael Guerreiro doubled the lead, connecting with Olise’s through ball, and in the 80th minute, 17-year-old midfielder Lennart Karl scored Bayern’s third goal.
Across eight matches, Bayern have scored 30 goals—a new record in Bundesliga history. They sit top of the table with 24 points, ahead of second-placed Leipzig on 19 points.
Across all competitions this season, the most successful German club has played 13 matches—and won every single one.
