Even judging by match results, things aren’t going well for Barcelona these days.
As time passes, their injury problems seem to be intensifying. Their key midfield anchor, Pedri, is now sidelined due to injury.
It’s truly a difficult period for Pedri. Last Sunday, he received a red card late in the 2-1 loss to Real Madrid, and now he’s completely out of action.
The Catalan club announced on Wednesday that Pedri has suffered an injury to his left leg muscle. According to media reports, the 22-year-old could take around four weeks to recover.
Citing club sources, Reuters reported that Pedri might miss Barcelona’s next three matches.
Since the start of the season, 12 Barcelona players have been sidelined at various times due to injuries, and several key players are still struggling. Currently, Robert Lewandowski, Gavi, Rafinha, Marc-André ter Stegen, and Dani Olmo are all battling injuries. Pedri now joins this list.
Judging by results as well, Barcelona is going through a rough patch. Earlier this month, they lost two consecutive matches in the first week. After returning from the international break, they recovered with two wins, but then suffered a defeat in the season’s first Clásico.
In La Liga, Barcelona sits second with 22 points from 10 matches, five points behind leaders Real Madrid.
