Two semi-finals and one quarter-final will also take place at Wembley.
The opening match of the 2028 European Championship will be held on June 9 in Cardiff. The grand finale is set exactly a month later, on July 9, when Europe’s new champions will lift the trophy at London’s historic Wembley Stadium.
UEFA announced the key match dates and venues on Wednesday. The 18th edition of Europe’s top football competition will be jointly hosted by England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
A total of 51 matches will be played among 24 teams across eight cities — London, Cardiff, Dublin, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, and Newcastle.
In addition to the final, Wembley will also host two semi-finals and one of the quarter-finals in its 90,000-capacity stadium. The other three quarter-finals will be played in Dublin, Glasgow, and Cardiff.
No Round of 16 matches will be held at Wembley, as those fixtures will be shared among the other venues. Host nations that qualify for the tournament will play their group-stage matches in their respective countries.
UEFA has also finalized three different kick-off times for the matches — 8 PM, 11 PM, and 2 AM Bangladesh time.
The Euro 2028 qualifying draw will take place in Belfast on December 6, 2026.
In the previous Euro edition, England finished as runners-up, while Scotland exited in the group stage. Wales and Ireland failed to qualify for the tournament.
According to UEFA, an independent assessment revealed that Euro 2028 is expected to generate over £3.5 billion in economic and social benefits for the UK and Ireland between 2028 and 2031. This includes job creation, regional development, and increased spending from international tourism.
