Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is extremely pleased to have Cole Palmer back from injury.
Palmer has recovered from his toe injury and is set to start in the crucial Premier League match against Arsenal. The Chelsea boss is delighted to have his “best player” available again.
Palmer was close to returning from a groin problem when he picked up a new injury. He accidentally hit a door, which left his left toe fractured.
Because of that, the 23-year-old missed Chelsea’s Premier League match against Burnley and their Champions League clash with Barcelona — both of which Chelsea won.
Injuries have caused Palmer plenty of trouble this season. So far, he has been able to play only four matches across all competitions.
Chelsea will face Arsenal this Sunday, and Maresca couldn’t hide his excitement at having one of his most important players back.
“He is ready to start. Everyone is happy — his teammates are happy, we are all happy, and most importantly, Cole (Palmer) is happy, because a footballer always wants to play and take part in training every single day.”
“He is our best player, and we are happy that he is back. We should give him the time he needs to be 100 percent fit. He has performed brilliantly in the past and will undoubtedly continue to do very well for this club in the future.”
The match at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge will kick off at 10:30 PM Bangladesh time on Sunday.
Chelsea currently sit right behind Arsenal in the Premier League table with 23 points from 12 matches, while Arsenal lead with 29.
