Monaco rise to sixth with 23 points from 14 matches.
Monaco had the first real opportunity at home. In the fourth minute, Mohamed Salisu’s left-footed shot was saved by PSG’s goalkeeper. Sixteen minutes later, the goalkeeper denied Aleksandr Golovin’s right-footed strike.
In the 32nd minute, PSG’s keeper kept Minamino’s shot out, maintaining a clean sheet. Three minutes later, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s attempt was thwarted by Monaco’s goalkeeper. PSG’s first shot on target came only at this point.
In the second half, Kvaratskhelia had another good chance but could not beat PSG’s keeper.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 68th minute by Minamino, who calmly slotted the ball into the net after receiving a pass from Golovin.
Monaco were reduced to 10 men in the 80th minute. German defender Tilo Kehrer initially received a yellow card from the referee, but after a VAR review of the foul, it was upgraded to a red card.
