Luis Díaz and Nicolas Jackson scored twice in the final five minutes to secure victory for Bayern.
The battle was at home, but Bayern faced a resilient St. Pauli side, far behind in strength and resources. The German champions fell behind early, conceding a goal in the sixth minute. Although Rafael Guerreiro equalized before halftime, Bayern remained under pressure for much of the game. Ultimately, two stoppage-time goals delivered the win.
At Allianz Arena on Saturday, Bayern won 3-1. After falling behind to Andreas’ strike, Guerreiro restored parity for the hosts. In stoppage time, Díaz and Jackson struck to seal the victory.
Just days after a 3-1 Champions League loss to Arsenal, Bayern conceded early to St. Pauli, a team that had won only three of their previous eleven league matches.
Bayern desperately sought the lead and finally equalized in the 44th minute through Guerreiro.
In the second half, Bayern pressed relentlessly but struggled to break down St. Pauli’s defensive wall. At one point, it seemed the match might end in a draw.
However, in the third minute of added time, Colombian winger Luis Díaz’s brilliant header put Bayern ahead. Four minutes later, Senegalese forward Jackson extended the lead.
Bayern dominated possession, holding the ball for 75% of the match and taking 15 shots, three on target.
The win strengthens Bayern’s position at the top of the table. After 12 matches, they have 11 wins and 1 draw, totaling 34 points. Leipzig remain second with 26 points from 8 wins and 2 draws.
