Shamsunnahar Junior and Tahura Khatun each struck four goals as their brilliant performances powered Farashganj Sporting Club to a commanding start in the Bangladesh Women’s Football League.
Playing their opening match on Thursday at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Sipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur, Farashganj demolished Dhaka Rangers Football Club with a thumping 10–0 victory.
Shamsunnahar Junior sparked the goal fest in the sixth minute. The national team forward completed her hat-trick in the first half before adding another goal early in the second half.
Fellow forward Tahura scored twice in the first half and netted again soon after the break to complete her hat-trick. She later went on to score her fourth goal in the second half.
The remaining two goals for Farashganj came from midfielders Maria Manda and Monika Chakma.
