Martinelli achieved this milestone in the FA Cup third round on Sunday against Portsmouth. With a 4-1 victory, Arsenal, the competition’s record 14-time champions, advanced to the fourth round.
Arsenal fell behind in the third minute but equalized in the eighth via an own goal from the opposition.
Martinelli put his team ahead in the 25th minute. Late in the first half, Arsenal earned a penalty, but English winger Noni Madueke missed the target.
He completed his hat-trick with two more goals in the 51st and 72nd minutes.
The 24-year-old scored two headers, marking the first time he has netted a brace of headed goals in a single match for Arsenal.
Across all competitions this season, Martinelli has now scored nine goals.
