This season, French star Kylian Mbappé joined Real Madrid from PSG. However, since arriving at the Bernabéu, the World Cup winner has struggled to find his best form. He has been fighting to get back to his top level, and this lack of form is also affecting Real Madrid.
Naturally, Mbappé is going through a tough period in his career. However, during this challenging time, he has the support of coach Carlo Ancelotti. Ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Osasuna, Ancelotti said at a press conference, “Like everyone else, Mbappé is a bit uncomfortable mentally, but he hasn’t lost his spirit. He is determined to get through this difficult period. I believe in him.”
Last season, Real Madrid won both the Champions League and La Liga. However, they suffered heavy defeats in the El Clásico against Barcelona (4-0) and in the Champions League against AC Milan (3-1). In both matches, Mbappé underperformed, missing several key opportunities, leading to questions about his place in the starting lineup.
Ancelotti, however, defended his player, saying, “What Mbappé is going through, others are also experiencing. Look at Vinícius, Rodrygo, or Bellingham — everyone is going through a tough time right now. Simply benching someone won’t solve the problem. You have to face these difficult times head-on.”
This season, Mbappé has scored 8 goals in 15 matches, including three penalties. However, he has only scored once in his last five games, which naturally reflects the struggles he’s facing. Criticism is mounting from all sides.
Ancelotti, however, remained confident, stating, “Mbappé is training well and will soon return to his best form.”
Regarding Mbappé’s absence from the upcoming Nations League squad, France coach Didier Deschamps has not included him. Ancelotti refrained from commenting on the matter, saying, “That is the national coach’s decision, and I don’t have the right to judge it. He has made his decision, and we must respect that.
