Before the high-voltage clash against Arsenal, Manchester United faces a massive blow as their experienced English defender Luke Shaw is ruled out. Having recently returned to the pitch after recovering from an injury, Shaw managed to play only two matches as a substitute. Yet again, another injury has struck the United left-back. The constant battle with injuries has left the English footballer deeply frustrated.
At 29, Shaw seems to be haunted by injuries, spending most of the year sidelined due to knee and muscle issues. Across all competitions this season, he has managed to play just three matches.
Shaw made his comeback on November 24 in a league match against Ipswich Town, but within two weeks, he’s sidelined again. According to British media, the fresh injury sustained during training will keep him out for several weeks.
Unable to suppress his disappointment, Shaw shared his feelings on social media, particularly Instagram:
“I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs, but this is undoubtedly the toughest period of my career. I am completely devastated, and accepting the reality of this moment is incredibly hard.”
However, Shaw is not one to give up easily. He assured fans of his determination to return to the field, saying he will give his all to make a comeback.
Currently, Manchester United sits ninth in the Premier League standings and is set to face second-placed Arsenal on Wednesday.
