Liverpool 2 : 2 Fulham
Playing with 10 men, coming back twice from behind—these are the moments where champions prove their mettle. For Liverpool, today’s clash against Fulham was just such a test, one that demanded resilience and character. And while they couldn’t secure the win, the Reds managed a thrilling draw that felt as good as victory. At Anfield, Liverpool and Fulham played out an intense 2-2 stalemate.
The game started disastrously for Liverpool. Fulham struck first in the 11th minute, with Andréas Pereira finding the net against the run of play. Things got worse just six minutes later, as Andy Robertson was shown a red card following a VAR review, leaving Liverpool to fight with 10 men for the remainder of the game. Yet, despite the adversity, the Reds refused to give in.
Early in the second half, Cody Gakpo equalized for Liverpool, thanks to Mohamed Salah’s 100th assist in a Liverpool jersey. However, Rodrigo Muniz’s goal in the 76th minute once again put Liverpool on the back foot, seemingly sealing their fate.
But enter Diogo Jota. Returning after 8 matches and 54 days out due to injury, the Portuguese forward reminded everyone of his value. His 86th-minute strike salvaged a crucial point for Liverpool in a match that seemed all but lost.
With this result, Liverpool remains top of the table with 36 points from 15 matches, maintaining a five-point lead over second-placed Chelsea.
