Manchester United coach Ruben Amouri was unable to give a specific timeline for English midfielder Mason Mount’s return to the field.
The wait for Mount’s return continues as the midfielder recovers from injury. According to Amouri, the 25-year-old will need a few more weeks to fully recover from his muscle injury.
Mount started in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in the derby last Saturday, but he was forced to leave the field after just 14 minutes. It was later revealed that he was suffering from a muscle injury.
Since joining United from Chelsea last year, Mount has struggled with injuries. He spent much of the previous season sidelined, and so far this season, he has played only 12 matches across all competitions, starting in just four.
In United’s next match, they will face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday. During Friday’s press conference, Amouri confirmed that Mount’s recovery will take more time.
“It will take a few weeks. I don’t know the exact date, but his time out will be extended. It’s part of football, and you have to move forward,” Amouri said.
Currently, Manchester United is in 13th place in the Premier League, with only 22 points from 16 matches.
