In February 2023, Real Madrid reached the 100-trophy milestone. Since then, the club’s trophy cabinet has continued to grow over the past two years.
However, Barcelona, Real Madrid’s eternal rivals, had been waiting for their own 100th trophy for a long time. Finally, that wait came to an end. By defeating Real Madrid, the Catalan club reached the coveted 100-trophy mark.
Until last night, Barcelona’s trophy count, excluding regional trophies, stood at 99. In the Spanish Super Cup final, they thrashed Real Madrid 5-2 to claim their 100th trophy.
Barcelona’s 100 trophies:
- La Liga: 27
- Copa del Rey: 31
- Spanish Super Cup: 15
- Copa de la Liga: 2
- Copa Eva Duarte: 3
- Copa Ferias: 3
- Copa Latina: 2
- Champions League: 5
- UEFA Super Cup: 5
- UEFA Winners’ Cup: 4
- FIFA Club World Cup: 3
This milestone comes 125 years after the club officially began its journey, marking Barcelona as one of Europe’s top football powers. Not only did they reach this landmark, but they also ended their trophy drought. The previous season had been trophyless for Barcelona, with their last major title coming in May 2023 when they won La Liga.
With an outstanding performance in Jeddah, Barcelona extended their lead over Real Madrid in the Super Cup trophy count. Barcelona has now won the competition 15 times, setting a new record. If Real Madrid had won last night’s final, they would have equaled Barcelona, but Hansi Flick’s team made sure they kept their distance, adding to their trophy tally.
On their way to 100 trophies, Barcelona has most frequently claimed the Copa del Rey, winning it 31 times. Their second-most successful competition has been La Liga, with 27 victories. They’ve also won the Spanish Super Cup 15 times, the Champions League 5 times, and the UEFA Super Cup 5 times.
Among Europe’s top five leagues, no other team, besides Barcelona and Real Madrid, has reached the 100-trophy mark.
