Arsenal Fined £65,000 for Player Misconduct
Arsenal has been fined £65,000 for failing to control their players following Miles Lewis-Skelly’s red card incident against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
During their 1-0 victory on January 25, the FA charged Arsenal for not ensuring their players refrained from improper conduct. The club later accepted the charge, and an independent commission issued the fine, as confirmed in an FA statement on Monday.
The controversy arose in the 43rd minute when referee Michael Oliver showed Lewis-Skelly a straight red card for a foul on a Wolves defender. Arsenal players immediately surrounded the referee in protest. VAR upheld the decision, but after an appeal, the 18-year-old’s three-match suspension was overturned.
This season, Arsenal players have received a league-high four red cards. Mikel Arteta’s side currently trails league leaders Liverpool by seven points.
