France will be without Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram for their two upcoming Nations League matches.
Ahead of their clash with Croatia, France has lost a key attacking player. Thuram, who plays for Inter Milan, has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.
The French Football Federation announced on Monday that the 27-year-old striker will miss the games due to the injury.
Thuram has been struggling with the ankle issue for several weeks. Last week, during a 4-1 win over Feyenoord in the Champions League, which secured Inter’s spot in the quarter-finals, Thuram admitted that he was not fully fit and was playing through the pain.
Despite this, Thuram was called up to Didier Deschamps’ 24-man squad. However, he ultimately had to withdraw due to the ongoing injury.
France will face Croatia in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals on Thursday, with the return leg scheduled for Sunday at home.
