After Argentina’s 4-1 victory over Brazil, midfielder Enzo Fernandez expressed his gratitude for the incredible support from Bangladesh.
Following the dominant win over Brazil, Enzo’s excitement was evident on social media, where his joy was shared with a wave of love for Bangladesh. He thanked the people of Bangladesh for their incredible support.
Enzo Fernandez played a key role in Argentina’s win, scoring the team’s second goal. The World Champions defeated Brazil 4-1 in the match held on Wednesday morning, Bangladesh time.
After the match, Enzo’s first message on social media was directed at Brazil’s Raphinha, who had made bold statements before the match. Raphinha had said, “We will beat Argentina… for sure! We will destroy them, on and off the field if necessary. I will score… I’m going all in.”
Before the match, Raphinha’s comments had added some tension, with the atmosphere becoming heated during the press conference. However, once the game started, Raphinha and his teammates were unable to make any impact, as Argentina displayed dominant and one-sided football.
After the match, Enzo posted a photo of himself celebrating with a wide smile, writing, “Next time, be humble, Raphinha.” He followed this with another post showing a team celebration, where he and several others made a “shush” gesture. It was clear who or what that celebration was aimed at.
Soon after, Enzo posted a message of gratitude to Bangladesh:
“Thank you, Bangladesh, for the incredible support and messages. This victory is for you too.” The post included both the Argentina and Bangladesh flags.
In almost every post by Enzo Fernandez and his Argentine teammates, the involvement of the people of Bangladesh is clearly visible. During the protests last July-August, Enzo had expressed solidarity with the people of Bangladesh, posting twice in support.
The people of Bangladesh have had a deep affection for Argentina’s football team for many years. However, it was during the last World Cup that Argentina’s players and many people in the country truly recognized the strong connection with Bangladesh.
