Bayern Munich will be without young attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
The worst fears have come true. Musiala has been sidelined indefinitely due to a hamstring injury. Bayern Munich will miss the German attacking midfielder in their crucial Champions League match against Inter Milan.
Next Tuesday, Bayern will face Italian champions Inter Milan at Allianz Arena in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
Musiala picked up the injury during Bayern’s 3-1 victory over Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday. The 22-year-old was seen limping off the field in the 54th minute, sparking concerns about his potential absence.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany had previously expressed uncertainty about Musiala’s availability. On Saturday, the German giants confirmed that Musiala would be out for an extended period.
In addition to Musiala, Bayern is already missing three defenders—Hiroki Ito, Alphonso Davies, and Dayot Upamecano—and their first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Losing Musiala is another significant blow for the team.
The return leg of the Champions League tie between the two teams will be on April 16.
