Newcastle United coach Eddie Howe will not be on the sidelines for their Premier League match against Manchester United due to illness.
Howe, 47, has been feeling unwell for the past few days and was admitted to the hospital on Friday night, as confirmed by Newcastle in a statement on Saturday.
“He is conscious and speaking with his family. He is receiving treatment under the care of specialist doctors,” the club said.
Under Howe’s guidance, Newcastle ended a 70-year trophy drought last month by winning the League Cup. The team is currently in seventh place in the Premier League.
Howe took charge of Newcastle in November 2021. Since then, he has overseen 165 matches in all competitions, with 84 wins, 36 draws, and 45 losses.
