Sevilla must hire sixth coach in three years after García’s departure
Due to the team’s poor and consistent performances, García Pimienta has lost his job as Sevilla’s head coach. The Spanish club has dismissed the coach after a series of disappointing results.
Sevilla have now lost four consecutive matches in La Liga, most recently suffering a 1-0 defeat at Valencia. On Sunday, the 50-year-old García’s contract was officially terminated in a statement from the club.
Sevilla, who have won the Europa League seven times, currently sit 13th in La Liga with 36 points from 31 matches. They are just seven points above the relegation zone.
So far this year, Sevilla have managed to win only three matches.
García joined Sevilla last July on a two-year contract. Prior to this, he had led Las Palmas to promotion to La Liga in the 2022-23 season and ensured their survival in the top flight the following season.
With García’s departure, Sevilla now face the task of hiring their sixth coach in just three years.
