Although Polish star Robert Lewandowski has recovered from injury and rejoined the squad, it’s still uncertain whether he’ll make it into the starting lineup.
Before Barcelona’s crucial Champions League semi-final match against Inter Milan, the team received a major boost. Their star striker and the season’s top scorer, Lewandowski, has returned to the squad after recovering from an injury.
Barcelona will face Inter Milan on Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at Inter’s home ground. The Catalan club’s coach, Xavi Hernandez, confirmed Lewandowski’s inclusion in the squad on the eve of the match.
Lewandowski injured his foot during a thrilling 4-3 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga on April 19. At that time, reports suggested it could take him around three weeks to recover, but the Polish forward is ready to play ahead of schedule.
Lewandowski has scored 25 goals in La Liga this season and 40 across all competitions. He has also netted 11 goals in the Champions League this season at the age of 36.
Lewandowski missed the first leg of the semi-final, where Barcelona fought back from a two-goal deficit to draw 3-3 at home. However, the challenge will be tougher at Inter’s home ground. The match at the San Siro is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 AM Bangladesh time on Tuesday.
